How to Upgrade to Version 5.0

 

Step 1: Prepare to Transfer Client Data from Version 4.2 to Version 5.0  

To prepare for the transfer of client data from Version 4.2 to Version 5.0 

  1. First, back up the Client Database in Version 4.2 

  1. Open “ASI Administrator 2010“   

  2. Navigate to Utilities > Backup Database.  

  3. Save the backup file and make sure to note its location.  

 

Step 2: Delete Version 4.2’s ASI Documents from Your Laptop  

     1. You will need to delete the Version 4.2 ASI Documents folder on your laptop. This step needs to be                    done before installation of Version 5.0 to avoid duplication of files. 

     2. Go to Windows File Explorer and copy and paste “C:/ProgramData/ASI” (without the quotes) into the              center address bar and then press Enter.  

     3. You should now see the folder “ASI Documents” 

     4. Right-click on “ASI Documents” and select Delete. Windows will ask you to confirm the deletion of the           folder. Press “Continue” to confirm. You will need administrator access.  

 

You are now ready for Step 3. If you encounter any problems, please contact Technical Support at 404-874-4772, Ext. 2. 

 

Step 3: Download and Install Abel Administrator Version 5.0  

Next, use the link below to download and install the Abel Administrator v5.0 application on your laptop. Click on the link and then press Run, and it will install.

  1. Enter the product key and password when prompted.  

  2.    Product key: If you do not have this on hand, email asisupport@abelscreening.com 

  3.    Password: admin  

 

Step 4: Restore the Backup of Client Data in Version 5.0  

     1. Open” AASI Administrator” v5.0 from the new shortcut on your laptop’s desktop. 

     2. Go to Utilities > Restore from Old Database.  

     3. A warning will appear asking: “Are you sure you want to continue?” — click OK.  

     4. Locate the client data backup file you saved earlier and click Open.  

     5. Once restored successfully, click OK. 

 

Step 5. Verify the Data Transfer  

     1. Once the restore is complete, go to Client Maintenance.  

     2. Confirm that all your client data has been successfully imported.  (Please note that only client lists are transferred. Test data does not transfer from version 4.2 to version 5.0.) 

 

Step 6. Archive ASI Administrator 2010 (Version 4.2)  

  1. You should not delete the ASI Administrator 2010, but instead archive it so you don’t accidentally continue to use it to administer assessments, while still having it available should you ever need to locate prior assessment results. 

 

Step 7: Repeat Steps 1-6 on All Laptops Used to Administer Assessments 

  1. If your practice uses more than one laptop to administer Abel Assessments, please note that you must download and install Version 5.0 on each device. 

 

Step 8. IMPORTANT -- Send A Confirmation Email to Abel Screening  

  1. Send a reply to this email OR email us at asisupport@abelscreening.com to notify us that you have successfully installed Version 5.0. and are ready to use the new application. It’s important to inform us that you have successfully upgraded to Version 5.0 so we can flip a switch in your account and ensure there will be no delay in your receipt of assessment results.
