About
For more than 20 years, Gene G. Abel, M.D. and his researchers have been developing technologically advanced evaluation and screening tools to keep children safe.

Abel Screening, Inc. (ASI) was founded in 1995 to provide therapists and criminal justice professionals with assessment tools to better evaluate individuals who are a sexual risk to children. Prior to forming ASI, Dr. Abel spent the previous eight years developing the technology that would objectively measure a person's sexual interests with the goal of identifying individuals who have sexual behavior problems. Through extensive research and with a stringent validation process, Dr. Abel and the researchers at ASI developed five computerized assessment tools for use by clinicians:

The Abel Assessment for sexual interest™ for Men (AASI-3)
The Abel Assessment for sexual interest-3™ for Women (AASI-3)
The Abel Assessment for sexual interest-2™ for Boys ages 12-17 (AASI-2)
The Abel Assessment for sexual interest-2™ for Girls ages 12-17 (AASI-2)
The Abel-Blasingame Assessment for individuals with intellectual disabilities™(ABID)
The AASI-3, AASI-2, and ABID are objective assessment suites of tests used by mental health and criminal justice professionals with adults and adolescents who have a variety of sexual behavior problems.
